These are a series of digital paintings I created dating back to 2017. I'd like to think this is a good representation of the sort of subject matter that I most enjoy working with. I love the world beyond our mundane reality. I love mythology, fantasy, horror, adventure and anything that allows the viewer to escape from their day-to-day life. In case it wasn't obvious, I'm also heavily influenced by the music genre of metal, and love to apply the ideas generated by the music into my work.
This was a commission I created for a non-profit organization known as the Global Schoolhouse Initiative. They focus on making online education available to children living in refugee camps so they can still educate themselves until they find a home. My concept was that the owl represents wisdom and education, he is leading the little girl out of the dark scary forest of ignorance and into the sunlit meadow, representing the brighter happier future she can gain through having an education.
